Field Notes

From photos to a shapefile, in a browser

Not every pilot flies a platform that writes the file structure we ask for. Until now that meant a pilot with good imagery and no processing software had nothing to submit, and the flight went to waste.

Map a fire closes that gap. Upload the photos, the images are stitched into a map, and then draw on it: heat perimeter, intense heat, scattered heat, isolated heat, and the fire perimeter itself. What comes out is a shapefile bundle in the same structure the submit form already expects, so it goes through the ordinary path from there.

It runs in a browser tab. There is no license to buy and no desktop GIS to install.

Proven on real imagery in August 2026.
